Caring for the Earth Is a Liberal Stance?

Most people already know much about global warming. To sum up, the sun’s rays are getting trapped within the ozone enabling the polar ice caps to melt, temperatures to rise continually, storms to worsen, and species to die off. Polar bears have a very high chance of extinction in the near future; the penguin has little hope as well. Armadillos have been found in areas they never have been before, due to the increasing heat.

So who’s to blame? Plain and simple: humans. This is is due to the levels of CO2 in the atmosphere which is emitted mainly from fossil fuels. We’ve been told many times to cut back, but many Republicans have insisted on confusing the public. They plead it’s a liberal trick, plot, and/or scheme. Why on Earth would liberals make up such a threat? This issue deserves more attention before we ruin this beautiful planet. The mere thought that caring for others (whether human or not) is a liberal stance is strange to me, yet makes perfect sense. Conservatives don’t seem to want to raise the minimum wage, for example. This lack of compassion towards all humankind and animals alike disturbs me. Why do conservatives snicker at those who care? It’s rather self-defeating.

Hello – I read your article here – it is very thought provoking, and I agree to some extent in the theory that global warming has to do with human interaction with world, however, I do not believe that fossil fuels are entirely to blame.

In the founding of our country, America went through some of the worst winters in their history. Snow covered crops in June and July and the winters made life unbearable. No one could fully understand what was happening – what was the cause of this mini ice age? We now know that a volcanic eruption halfway around the world had blocked the sun’s rays for years with the resultant debris dropping temperatures, killing crops and creating disorder in an ordered world.

I believe what we are experiencing now is the same kind of thing. Perhaps it is fossil fuels, but it could also be millions of miles of concrete and asphalt covering today’s world. Perhaps this change is cyclical – the earth has experienced other tropical periods in its long history. Or perhaps, the earthquake in Sumatra – the one that wobbled the world on its axis – has moved us closed to the sun by a few inches.

It would not serve us well if our arrogance prevents us from exploring all possible reasons for global warming.

There are many possibilities. Occum’s Razor would point to the most obvious one.

Perhaps Hepzibah is really a code name for Exxon/Mobil, or BP. Possibly a large shareholder, or mother of the janitor at an all night gas station.

Or, just perhaps we should open our eyes and ears. Let’s See the World around us, hear what is factual, tangible and real. Breathe the air and consider the daily damage done on a global scale.

This is far worse then a few cold winters. Terra Firma is rock and concrete. A few inches closer to the sun does not account for the rise of C02. These have been looked at and dismissed. The #1 cause is Fossil Fuels.

The simple fact remains, If we do not act, we as a species, will destroy the Earth as we know it.

“It would not serve us well if our arrogance prevents us from exploring all possible reasons for global warming.”

Arrogance is pretending that humans are not responsible for destroying the Earth.
