Coming out at work can be easy or hard. But you will never know if you have too many reasons not to. I, personally, don’t shy away from my truth, but don’t flaunt it either. Religion doesn’t come up that much at work and I think its better that way. This is for those of us not fortunate enough to work from home: Reasons to not “come out” at work.

1. Your boss is a devout Christian, Jew, or Muslim.
2. You are already a social pariah because you don’t drink coffee.
3. Coworkers blab about how much money they throw away at church and laughing at them may get you fired.
4. When coworkers say “Thank god its Friday” on Fridays, its easier to smile then ask why they don’t say “F U god its Monday” on Mondays.
5. Happy Holidays is just less to explain than Happy Festivus.
