Church bells to toll Lennon’s ‘Imagine’
This is one of those it would be funny if it weren’t true situations, except it’s still funny no matter how true it remains. LOL
Amid growing controversy, church officials stand by their decision to allow their church bells to toll John Lennon’s Imagine.
Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral has drawn fire from those who believe that John Lennon’s message in the song is atheistic in nature and that it is, therefore, “wholly inappropriate.”

In case you forgot the lyrics to John Lennon’s Imagine:
Imagine there’s no heaven / It’s easy if you try
No hell below us / Above us only sky
Imagine all the people / Living for today…Imagine there’s no countries / It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for / And no religion too
Imagine all the people / Living life in peace…You may say I’m a dreamer / But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us / And the world will be as oneImagine no possessions / I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger / A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people / Sharing all the world…You may say I’m a dreamer / But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us / And the world will live as one
It’s clearly not atheist, per se, but surely irreligious! Any organized religion personnel that approves of using this song has their head up their butt.
