David Cross, another Jewmanist
It’s a little old, but here ya go…
Although I would have to say there’s a little more to the being Jew-ish solely because one’s mother is a Jew. There’s more to it, more about the culture..I think. I don’t know. Part of me thinks I should chuck it all down the disposal. Since I don’t believe it, then I don’t need it. But somehow I still feel Jew-ish. Is it just due to years of being told such? Part of me relates to said culture, heritage, and history.
Additionally, I find it important to declare I was never (or even expected to be) a part of the Christian religion. Otherwise, many Christians may assume (and its happened several times) that I used to have a “relationship” with Jesus.

I think for most of us the idea of being Jewish does not automatically denote being a religious Jew. In fact, in my own personal prejudice, I usually think I’m talking with someone of a rational mindset when introduced to a Jew! If you relate culturally, then it’s fine to still call yourself Jewish.
