Interesting and diverse list! One atheist that most surprised me is Jesse Ventura. Think about it– he’s a politician, a governor no less, and it’s unusual to see “out” atheists in politics– and heartening that they can succeed to such a high level. Also, and sorry, but since he’s a professional athlete– forgive my stereotyping, but I’ve read a lot of stupid jock quotes and superstitions to not think too highly of pro athletes in the brains department.
Oh, and Minnesota– is it a red state? If so, all the more so! Go Ventura!

I’m not surprised about Ventura; he’s made remarks that seemed to lean towards an atheist view. Nothing that I can recall at the moment. It’s easy to be an atheists in politics if you lie about it… sigh.

Yet, I am surprised by some of the others.

Yeah, but I don’t think he was ever really “out” as a governor. Hmm
