I actually got a well-paying freelance side job. Lately, I’ve been busy with managing websites and design elements.

I’m still around, so have no worries!

Licensing Original Artwork

I’ve been busy lately but plan to continue blogging again. In my spare time, I’ve been looking into avenues of licensing artwork. You can see some of my work at my portfolio site. Though I recently redid that site, so not everything is up yet.

You may also check out a slideshow I put together with some of my older pieces.

I just felt like mentioning this in case anyone has any ideas. I don’t really expect much from this post but it can’t hurt to put it out there. ;)

Moving to WordPress

My template’s been having issues in Chrome and even Firefox …and (surprise!) Internet Explorer. Since my other sites use WordPress and it rocks far more socks than Blogger (sorry Google, you can’t please everyone – all the time), I’ll be switching things over in the next coming weeks. I don’t think the site will be down long, but if there is anything odd happening, that should be why.

EDIT: [03.26.2009] The change has happened and I’m currently making some tweaks.

EDIT: [04.02.2009] I’m finished with just about everything by now.

As you can see my atheist site version 4.0 is coming along. I say 4.0 because this is the fourth title I have used. But I finally got a domain. So, update your links, if you’d like. But old links will be forwarded.

Mid-Site Crisis… Halp!

If any friends, acquaintances, colleagues, readers, fellow bloggers would like to weigh in, please do so:

For those who may or may not be aware, I have a design site: interhuss designs. And having a mini design idea crisis. I’m using WordPress currently and like almost everything about it. For the record, I do mostly photo manipulations, Gimp brushes, vectors, wallpapers, etc.

In your opinion is it better to have:

A) A full blog with ads (even with the risk of not having many commenters)?

B) Strictly art gallery & download site?

Keep in mind, that either version will have my portfolio of images and free downloads. The real question is if I should blog or not. I know none of you can answer that. Maybe I just need some type of assurance. I consider myself somewhat of a writer, but not necessarily good at blogging on schedules. I know there are ways around it (like having drafts ready to go) but sometimes I just don’t feel like dealing with it at all. I can’t figure out if its worth it.

Understanding it is ultimately my choice, as a blogger and/or reader of blogs, what do you think? A? B? Other?

Suggestions for Coming Out Godless?

I started Coming Out Godless on Blogger. Fearing the inevitable of having to copy and paste every story, I decided to stick with Blogger. Being a relatively familiar with code, I used KompoZer to create the rest of the site, and used a Blogger template for the “Stories” page, hence why they’re not identical. I love Google in many ways but, truth be told, Blogger is nothing compared to WordPress (when you pay for the domain and hosting).

So, sometime eventually soon (I like using qualifiers that don’t put me on a deadline), I want to revamp the site. Do you have any constructive suggestions? I am working on a few ideas, but I want to get as much input before I go ahead and make any major site changes. There will be more details to follow.

EDIT [04.09.2009] Coming Out Godless got a new look, but is still being worked on. It is on WordPress now and using Intense Debate Comments. While its coming along, there’s still some work to do. I have to create a couple more pages and change the buttons in the upper right corner. Also, the categories and tags need to be organized. And the favicon only works in Chrome.

EDIT [04.13.2009] While I’m still working on COG, its coming along. I have started my link list, though its not done. My dropdown menus don’t work, but it still looks better than having a huge list of religions.

EDIT [04.16.2009] Things are coming along. The categories and tags are getting better, though there’s still work to be done. The links are done (I think) and I opened a store at cafepress.

Humanism & the Symposium

I haven’t written much lately. I go through these phases were I’m feeling more inclined to blog than others. Sometimes it lasts a few days, or as much as a few weeks. My feelings on major issues rarely change. Perhaps they morph, mutate, and rearrange. But never fully change. I’m not opposed to change; I love change. I also love improvement. Anything that can help me grow and evolve into a better version of myself. I’ve always been more of a short story, journal, and poetry writer. And if you weren’t previously aware, I absolutely love photo-manipulating (atheism-esque collection here).

I have strong opinions that I don’t believe are always about right and wrong. Humanism involves a general care for all of humanity. I believe everyone should be equal. So how can anyone be right or wrong when determining gay marriage, for example. To me, morality has to do with being kind and not maliciously hurting others. How can supporting gay marriage be wrong or immoral in any way, shape, or form? It’s not right; it’s not wrong. It’s part of humanity and human beings are beautiful. The only thing that’s immoral is telling others how they should live. That’s the only true crime! (If there were no victim, there would be no crime.)

I may take a break or get busy at my 9-6 unrelated job; I’m only human! I don’t like blogging just for the sake of blogging. However I’ll continue to read atheist articles and blogs, watch Dawkins’ videos, etc. I’m not a professional blogger, nor do I wish to be. I like writing what’s on my mind, when it’s on my mind.

I believe in living and being.
