A Recent Study Finds a Correlation Between Atheism and Autism

The autism quotient (AQ) scores among the adults who were surveyed are plotted against their declared religious beliefs. Atheists are a majority.

This study does not assert that a majority of atheists are high function autistic, rather that high functioning autistic people are more likely to be atheist. It’s also important to note that this is a correlation which, as we all know, does not imply causation. People with ‘mild’ forms of autism are more likely to [...]

Chiropractic as seen by this Skeptic

I’m fairly skeptical, but I wasn’t always. I’ve been to chiropractors before. Two of them, in my lifetime. I never paid for it. The first was someone who was friends with my parents and never charged me. The second was paid through my insurance; I think it was seen as preventative care. Some companies won’t take [...]

Marketed Beauty Products

Beauty Products

Lately men have been getting a dose of what women have been getting for a lot longer. Though, equality is still way off in the distance. How awesomely unique is that? But it just felt wrong.

People would ask me after I got married when I was changing my name. I would sometimes simply say “I’m not” but sometimes I felt offended and would utter “what’s wrong with mine?” 25 years it took me to love my own name. And now I have to change it? That, in conjunction with my general feminist attitude towards life, afforded me my only choice. Do nothing. ;)

Mumps Outbreak from the East Coast may be Spreading to Los Angeles

Way to bring back rare childhood diseases, Jenny McCarthy. Mumps is now making a comeback. “A mumps outbreak on the East Coast — the largest in the United States in four years — may be spreading to Los Angeles County.”
